I left feeling positive…
I've been meaning to write and say thank you for making my first foray back into the world of employment after a 10 year absence such a pleasant one. I'm still feeling the elation of getting the first job I applied for and I owe a lot of that to you. I felt that I may have had to defend my lack of 'real' work with any potential employer or personnel agency but was immediately put at ease as you saw how much 'work' I had done in the intervening years and gave me tips on how to present it on my resume. I was especially impressed that you were able to see the breadth of my experience, and could consequently recommend me to a client who would benefit from employing a generalist with some very solid skills. I came away from our interview feeling very confident that even if the posting I'd applied for was not the right one (though it proved to be an excellent fit) that you understood what I was capable of and that you would find me a great position. I felt that you really saw me as a person, not just as a set of skills. And I felt engaged by you as well. It felt more like we were having a conversation, not necessarily a job interview. I left feeling positive and so for those reasons, Thank You!
